Tracy, Trained Celebrant – Kent and Beyond

Based in Kent, Tracy is an AMC trained wedding and funeral celebrant with a passion for creating and delivering bespoke ceremonies across Kent, East Sussex, Surrey and London . Whether you dream of an outdoor ceremony on a beautiful beach, a serene garden setting, or within a marquee or tipi, Tracy brings your vision to life. She also enjoys conducting ceremonies in grand stately homes, historic manor houses, medieval castles, and charming, old-beamed barns..

Tracy’s approach is rooted in personalisation. Through thoughtful conversations and bespoke questionnaires, she takes the time to learn about you—your love story, journey, personalities, beliefs, and values. Drawing from this, she crafts a ceremony that is deeply meaningful and unique, with every detail reflecting your loved one or who you are as a couple or a family.

Your ceremony will be unforgettable: tailored entirely to you. Tracy’s role is to tell a story in a way that feels just right for your special day, celebrating in a way that is memorable, joyful, and most importantly, true to the occasion.

Why Choose a Celebrant-Led Wedding?

I'm a trained celebrant from the Academy of Modern Celebrancy (AMC), and I’m excited to announce that my diary is now open for bookings! If you're looking for a unique, personal, and meaningful wedding ceremony, a Celebrant-led ceremony could be exactly what you're after. Celebrant-led weddings, vow renewals, and commitment ceremonies are wonderful occasions that are completely tailored to you as a couple, celebrating your love in a way that’s deeply personal. However, I know there’s often some confusion surrounding the roles of Registrars and Celebrants, so I thought it would be helpful to explain the key differences and what a celebrant can do when conducting your ceremony.

Can Celebrants Perform Legal Ceremonies?

As it currently stands, celebrants in the UK cannot conduct legally binding weddings. However, there is ongoing discussion around marriage law and how it may eventually allow non-religious belief organisations and independent celebrants to legally marry couples. The good news is, even though celebrants can’t yet conduct a legal ceremony, there’s a simple solution: you can legally marry or form a civil partnership at your local Registry Office separately, and then have your celebrant-led ceremony wherever and however you choose.

The legal marriage is typically a quick, simple process at the Registry Office, often requiring just you, your partner, and two witnesses. This can take place before or after your celebrant-led ceremony, depending on what works best for you. Once you’ve handled the legal bit, you’re free to have your celebrant-led wedding in a location that holds meaning for you – from romantic woodlands and stunning beaches to grand stately homes or relaxed garden settings.

What Happens in a Celebrant-Led Wedding Ceremony?

What Happens in a Celebrant-Led Wedding Ceremony? While a celebrant cannot perform the legal formalities such as the specific contractual words that a registrar would use, they can still include all of the beautiful traditions you would expect from a wedding. You can walk down the aisle, exchange vows, ring exchange, and even share the special "you may now kiss" moment! You can also incorporate religious or spiritual readings, hymns, or any other elements you wish.

One of the greatest advantages of a celebrant-led wedding is that you’re not tied to tradition unless you want to be. You have complete control over how your ceremony looks and feels. You might choose to walk in together for a more inclusive feel, include children in your ceremony, or incorporate rituals from your cultural background. Your ceremony can be as traditional or as unconventional as you wish – it’s entirely your choice.
